Science and technology in the woollen industry

Explore, investigate and discover

Taking the local woollen trade as a starting point and making use of the woollen machinery on display, we have a small selection of STEM activities suitable for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Workshops include natural dyeing, technology in the woollen industry and materials. These can be combined with activities such as Victorian Life or a guided walk to give context to the science and technology.
