Trowbridge In 6 Buildings – Guided Walk
Thursday 18th September 14.00 – 16.00
In this walk we are going to trace the story of Trowbridge through just in 6 buildings in the town. The walk takes us back to the Norman Conquest and follows a route around the Medieval, Tudor and Georgian before ending in the C19th when the Trowbridge became the “county town”.
The walk takes about 90 minutes and is conducted using a walkie-talkie system. The route is largely flat pavement and should be accessible for those with mobility issues.
Building Trowbridge – Illustrated Talk
Saturday 20th September 14.30 – 15.30
As Trowbridge grew over the centuries the townscape and topography changed. Using maps, illustrations and photographs we’ll find out how medieval development, Georgian fashions, Victorian industry and C20th growth created the town we see today.
