Roman Life (Home Educators)

This workshop is aimed at home educated children aged 8 – 11 years (corresponding to KS2 at primary school).
This immersive workshop looks at Ancient Rome, the invasion of Britannia and life in Roman Britain. With a range of activities focusing on different aspects of Ancient Rome including life in a Roman villa, Food and Shopping, and Roman Clothing it is the perfect opportunity for your child to learn about Ancient Rome in an engaging, challenging and enjoyable way. We have lots of resources to handle, including domestic utensils, writing tablets and scales, costumes, including a toga, to try on and the workshop includes role-playing a visit to a Roman bathhouse. The workshop begins with an introduction to Ancient Rome which includes its origins, culture and the invasion of Britannia as well as a look at Rome’s famous legions.

We realise that you may have to bring pre-school and young children with you – this is perfectly fine – but please read the terms and conditions (9 & 11) when you make the booking.

Although these workshops are aimed at children aged 8 – 11 years slightly older or younger children may also benefit from participation. Please make any bookings based on your children’s age, ability and interest.
