Things To Do
There are so many things to do in Trowbridge Museum and lots of things to see. we have loads of amazing machines that show how cloth used to be
made, including a very rare Spinning Jenny, fascinating displays about the castle including a brilliant model (did you know that Trowbridge Castle was no bigger than the Shires Shopping Centre?), and lots more weird and wonderful objects and pictures that tell the story of the town.
We run regular art and craft workshops in the holidays for children and
young people (and mums, dads and grandparents) and there are interactives throughout the museum including building blocks to construct your own castle, a mouse hunt, archaeology sorting tray and more.
If you pop in on Saturdays, then our weavers are usually weaving on the Hattersley loom. They make a range of woven items that are sold in our shop.
The museum has a well stocked shop where you can buy books and pamphlets on Trowbridge’s history, souvenirs of the town and lots of pocket-money toys for young ‘uns.
