Education & Outreach
Dear Teacher, we want to find out what you would like from the education service if the museum relocates to Courtfield House, and are inviting you to complete our survey. Either click here to take survey or download the pdf version or the rtf version.
Trowbridge Museum provides a comprehensive range of exciting, interesting and challenging learning and outreach workshops for a wide range of ages. We have established an excellent reputation for providing high quality workshops and are constantly seeking to develop the service in order to make it as accessible and inclusive as possible. You can download a copy of our current education leaflet here.
Our service is comprised of both formal and informal workshops and includes museum-based sessions for schools, outreach and loans boxes for residential and care homes and a variety of themed activities and events for children and young people during the school holidays. The service is run by a small team consisting of a full time Education and Learning Officer, David Birks, and a part-time Education Assistant, Ms Nikki Ritson, and help is provided by a dedicated team of volunteers.
We offer a free museum-based service to Trowbridge’s schools*, whilst charges apply to schools from outside the town, and for some workshops including Monday’s pre-school sessions, reminiscence work and our outreach service. Most of our holiday activities are free, although we do charge for some activities and our Stumpy Days. Prices for these activities will be advertised on flyers and the website. Stumpy Club members always receive a discount on holiday events and activities
We cover a very broad range of historical periods, such as Romans, Tudors, Victorian and World War 2, and themes such as Weaving and Cultural Diversity, and we may be able to create workshops to suit your topic. Education, Learning and Outreach Price List
